Why we are giving back?
Hi friends,
Over the holidays, I revisited goals I’d been too afraid to pursue, including giving back to my community. For years, I told myself, “One day, when my business is bigger, I’ll give,” or “What I can offer isn’t enough.” But after reflecting, I realized there’s no perfect time to start.
The devastating fires and the losses so many have endured have been heavy on my heart. I can’t imagine what it’s like to lose everything in an instant—the tools, resources, and dreams creators work so hard to build. I think of the moms crafting in their studios to support their families, young artists losing their paints and canvases, and small businesses trying to rebuild from nothing. These creators are often overlooked in times of crisis, and I want to be someone who thinks of them when they need support the most.
Over the past two years, I’ve faced challenges—like battling carpal tunnel in 2023 and my business being hit by theft in 2024. Although these were difficult moments, they don’t compare to the large-scale devastation so many have faced. Still, those experiences taught me the importance of support and how isolating it feels to face hardships alone. That’s why I want my business to be a resource for others, especially the micro-businesses that are often overlooked in moments of crisis.
One of the most meaningful moments last year was raising funds to reinvest in my business after the theft and using part of those funds to gift a camera to Laura, the owner of WithLaura.co, a fellow Latin-owned business. That experience reminded me how even small gestures can create a ripple effect of encouragement and opportunity.
This isn’t just a short-term goal—it’s a forever commitment I want my business to uphold. Starting today, for every order placed on my website, $1 will be saved and donated quarterly to a small business, aspiring entrepreneur, or non-profit. I’ll share updates on my website so you can see how your support helps others. As my business grows, I look forward to seeing how God will use it to bless others and create a lasting impact.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
Supporting Micro Buisnesses
In the Fall of 2024, we proudly supported Laura, the owner of WithLaura.co, a fellow Latin-owned business, by gifting her a security camera. This essential tool enhances her safety while attending events solo and helps protect her business assets. Laura’s dedication to her craft of repurposing vintage clothes and her entrepreneurial journey inspires us, and we’re honored to contribute to her continued success.
Laura shares, “I started my business in 2021 during quarantine by making bucket hats. I then ventured into reselling vintage clothes and upcycling. I found more love in that because I’ve always had a great love for fashion. Now, I dabble in a little bit of everything that piques my interest!”
